How to Select/Choose your Baby’s Sex (Male/Female)

A lot of our readers have been asking questions on How to Choose your Baby’s Sex. Some people would say Marital life is sweet, but na pikin dey spoil am. You’d be surprised about how many marriages has been destroyed because of their choice for a particular gender of child. A lot of women are on the hot seat daily, while a lot more others have been sent packing from their matrimonial hope, because of their inability to give a particular child, especially a male child.

This is very common in our society, and it is very wrong. The inability to have a male or female child is not a fault of the woman or man. If you must know, male children comes from the Man, because it is the man who has the “Y” chromosome that forms the male child. Yes, you read that right. It is the man who determines what child that would be produced, as it is what the man puts into the woman, that the woman brings out. You would understand that better as you read down.

Further more, the chance of having a male or female child with every pregnancy is 50:50. Its all a probability. In this post, I would try to explain to you how that happens, and also how you can Choose your Baby’s Sex and enhance your chances of having a particular gender of child you want (either male or female).

To Choose your Baby’s Sex, there are these things called gametes which are released during sex. The male gamete is the SPERM. The female gamete is the EGG. When these two gametes meet, they form an EMBRYO that becomes the Child.
These gametes carry signs that determine what the gender of the child formed would be. They are what can help to to Choose your Baby’s Sex.
The Male gamete, the sperm cells can either be X or Y. The Female gamete, the egg cell is always X.

Know that when both Man & wife have sexual intercourse, the man would ejaculate his semen into the woman. This semen contains both sperm cells carrying X-sign, and sperm cells carrying Y-sign in almost equal proportion.

If the X-Sperm cell from the Man’s semen, meets the egg (X) in the woman, the baby formed will be a Girl (XX).
If it is the Y-Sperm cell from the man’s semen that meets the egg (X) from the woman, the baby formed will be a Boy (XY).
So now, you see why I say that it is actually the man that determines whether they would have a male child or a female child, all things being equal.

Choose your Baby's Sex

However, research has predicted that you can be able to select the sex of your baby. This is based on the difference in speed & survival of both the X-sperm & the Y-sperm

It has been observed that the X-Sperm cell from the man (that forms female child) move very slowly to meet the egg, but they can survive longer in the genital tract of the woman ( they can stay up to 3-4days waiting for the egg). Whereas, the Y-Sperm cell on the other hand (that forms the male child) move faster to meet the egg but they also die faster (within about 24 hrs).

This is where the trick of how to Choose your Baby’s Sex lies. So if you have sex some days before ovulation, most of the Y-Sperm cells would have died, leaving mostly X-Sperm cells around to fertilize the egg, leading to the birth of a female child.

However, to be able to Choose your Baby’s Sex, you would need to know how to target your Ovulation day, so that you can have intercourse just around your time of ovulation.

How To Calculate Ovulation Day/Period

Here’s a simple way to calculate your ovulation period;

  1. From the first day you see the blood of your period, pick up a calendar & count 15 DAYS forward (including the first day of the blood stain).
  2. Mark the 15th day with a pen.
  3. Mark 3 days before the 15th day.
  4. Mark 3 days after the 15th day.

You will see you have 7 days marked in all, which are your ovulation period, FERTILE DAYS or “unsafe period”. ‘Unsafe’ because if you have sex on any of these days, you have 98% chances of getting pregnant.

  1. Do this every month diligently.

For Example;
If your period was 11th August, 15 days after the first day of the blood stain will be on 25 (i.e. 2 wks), 3 days before the 15th day would be 22, 23 & 24 and 3 days after 25th August would be 26, 27 & 28.
So, from 22 to 28 August (7days) is when you would be ovulating.

Let me repeat; this period when you’re ovulating is your fertile period. Any sexual contact during this period can form a pregnancy.

There are a few android apps on the google play store that you can download to help you do this if you have any difficulty in marking out your fertile days/period.

Don’t forget, the 4 days mentioned earlier should remind you that sperm stays in the female body for about 4 days.

To summarize:
To Choose your Baby’s Sex
, If you want a BABY GIRL, have sex between 3 days before your ovulation (i.e. 22 to 24th from our example). Female sperms (X) swim slowly but can stay inside a woman’s body for days without dying off.

If you want a BABY BOY, have sex on the main ovulation day & 3 days after ovulation (i.e. 26 to 28th from our example). Male sperms (Y) swim very fast but will get weak & die off if it finds no egg to fertilize within that 24-48 hours, leaving female X-sperm to finish the job.

Symptoms and Signs of Ovulation

Remember, ovulation means your egg is ready to be fertilized. Here are major signs that your ovulation has started.

  1. Headache
  2. High body temperature
  3. Dizziness
  4. Feeling tired & sleepy
  5. Breast tenderness
  6. Breast fullness

Use Ovulation Tracking/Testing Kit

If you have any problems monitoring your ovulation, there are available ovulation testing kits that you can buy to detect when you are ovulating. It is similar to a pregnancy kit and you can get it at Pharmacies near you.

I hope i have been able to summarize this simple, natural way to select/Choose your Baby’s Sex. It might not be 100% exact always. But studies have shown it works.
